My fellow officers and friends:


By now you have probably seen the news reports concerning possible misconduct by our department leadership.


Shortly after Hurricane Alex hit, it was brought to the Board’s attention that a Commander had ordered on-duty city maintenance workers to take sandbags to his personal residence and the personal residence of our Chief of Police.  The information came directly from the maintenance personnel themselves. The Board feels that this information was true and accurate. As a Board, we contacted CLEAT for guidance concerning the issue and they have provided direction and support for us every step of the way.
